Evelyn Morgan Thomas, beloved wife of the late James M. Thomas departed this life on April 11, 2016 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis Maryland. She was 95 years old.\n \n\n She was ninth of twelve children born to the late John El and Mary Virginia Peterson, all who preceded her in death.\n \n\n Evelyn married the love of her life and enjoyed 70 years of marriage before her husband’s death in May 2009. They had six children. Their oldest daughter preceded them in death.\n \n\n In earlier years, she was a full-time homemaker. She worked in the canneries during the summer months when the children were older. In later years, she became a domestic worker for several private families in the area.\n \n\n Evelyn was a godly woman and a woman of great faith. She loved her family and her family loved her. She loved children, the beauty of the earth and all of God’s creatures. She was a master at playing dominoes and it was difficult to beat her. She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables, making pancakes and biscuits from scratch for her grandchildren, and making corn pudding and white potato pies for family dinners.\n \n\n Treasuring the fond memories that they made together are her children, William and his wife,Geneva; Jeanette, Calvin, Bernice and Roberta Price and her husband Lloyd; two sisters-in-laws; Margaret Tracey and Marcella Thomas; one brother-in-law, Edward Thomas, 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
