Ernest " Coffee" Pierce, son of the late Mildred Pierce Foreman Price and Richard Bower, Sr. was born on November 25,1932 in Cordova ,MD. He was called from labor to reward on January 11, 2008 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD.\n \n Coffee was educated in Talbot County Public School System. He was married to Violet Groce of Cordova, MD. That marriage ended in divorce.\n \n Ernest accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of St. Michaels Church of God in St. Michaels, Maryland. He served under the leadership of Elder Andrew L. Thurman and the tutelage of his mother, Mother Price. Ernest would visit his mother on a regular basis and they had long talks about God and the challenges of living a Godly life. He later transferred his membership to Monument of Love Church of God in Christ in Vienna, Maryland, where he served faithfully as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Armour Bearer to Pastor VanZandt, and Chairman of the Annual Truckers Day service. In 2006, Deacon Pierce received a Certificate in the Ministry of Helps. Wherever he found himself to be, he tried to keep God's earth beautiful, including walking around picking up trash. Deacon Pierce was dedicated to serving others. He always had a smile and would talk to whomever he met about the "Word" of God.\n \n For a number of years Coffee did farm work. Later he became a long distance truck driver for the Denton Trucking Co. Coffee was a member of the We Care Truck and Bus Drivers Organization of Seaford, DE. He retired from Allen Family Foods after many years of driving locally. Each year while employed there, he received the Safe Driver Award. His handle was " Slow Motion". Left to mourn his sudden passing, a daughter, Rita Jenkins (Maurice), a granddaughter, Terry Cephas (Andrew), a grandson, Robbie Flamer (all of Denton, MD); five brothers, William Foreman (Artina) and Daniel Foreman (all of Easton, MD), Larry Foreman (Teresa) (Baltimore, MD), Grant Price (Cordova, MD) and Charles Price (Gail) (Harrisburg, PA); three sisters, Florence Wilson (Francis) (Cordova, MD), Theona Hall, (Cambridge, MD), Gloria Keeling (John), (Queenstown, MD); three sistersa�"in-law, Amelia Bowser and Joan Bowser (Cordova, MD), and Pauline Foreman (Cambridge, MD), seven great grandchildren; five great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\n \n In addition to his parents, three brothers preceded him in death, Maurice Bowser, Richard Bowser, Sr., and James Foreman.\n \n Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 12 noon at Monument of Love Church of God In Christ 213 Race St Vienna, MD with a viewing Thursday evening 6-8 pm at Henry Funeral Home, PA 510 Washington St Cambridge and one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in Chapel Cemetery.
