Eric Gordon Young

Eric G. Young, affectionately known as Ericky, departed this life on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at TidalHealth Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, DE.

Eric was 61 years old, born January 30, 1963 in Talbot County, Maryland. He was the son of the late Lucille Joyce Wilson and Raymond O. Young.

He received his education in the Talbot County Public Schools. Eric graduated from Easton High School Class of 1982. Eric attended Chesapeake College.

Throughout his life Eric worked for Foxes Department Store, JCPenney, House of the Pines, Mallard Bay, William Hill Manor, Home Instead, and Comfort Keepers. During the holiday season you could find Eric with the Salvation Army ringing the bell outside various stores and facilities.

Eric loved to play bingo, listen to music, dance, and most certainly eat! It was nothing strange to see him dining at some of his favorite local restaurants Stargate, Dayton’s, Texas Roadhouse or Cheddars. On Friday evenings you could catch him at Easton Fire Hall playing bingo or occasionally at Paul’s on Saturdays. Eric truly enjoyed traveling, no matter if it was near or far, he could give you directions on how to get there or drive you to your destination. Eric loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Whether it be attending a get together for the holidays; planning a shopping trip or sharing a meal. Eric was known to speak exactly what he thought but drew those close to him because of his charismatic and kind demeanor – not to mention his bright smile.

Eric leaves to cherish two sisters, Gloria Jackson (William “Pee Wee”) of Cambridge, MD and Adrian Woolford of New Castle, DE; three brothers Wayne Wilson (Carla), Raymond Wilson (Jeannie), all of Trappe, MD, and Curtis Wilson of Cambridge, MD; two aunts, Harriet Chase (Robert), and Linda Walker; one uncle Lester Stanton (Jackie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Two brothers, Ronald Wilson and Keith Young preceded him in death.
