Delores Thomas Sasser was born on November 14, 1937 in Bellevue, Maryland to Morris and Etta Thomas, the second of their nine children. She was a graduate of Moton High School in Eaton, Maryland and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Morgan State University. \n After graduation Delores moved to Brooklyn, New York. There she worked for many years as a dietician, eventually retiring from St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in 1987. It was also in New York where Delores met her husband, Fred Sasser, whom she married in 1978.\n Delores loved and cared for her family. After her retirement, she returned home to help care for her parents in their later years. She was an avid reader who liked to keep up with current events and loved to watch football. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling with family and friends to various places such as Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Canada. Delores especially cared for her young nieces and nephews and was very proud of their accomplishments.\n Delores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Nathaniel, Bruce and Charles Thomas, Sr.; sister Charlotte Allen; nephews David Alston and Charles Thomas, Jr. and a niece Crystal Allen. \n She is survived by her brothers Chester(Elizabeth) Thomas of Easton, Maryland and Dwight(Alice) Thomas of Salisbury, Maryland; her sisters, Mary Alston of Brooklyn, New York and Geraldine Dill of Easton, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also special friends, Ernestine Greene, Gloria Wimberly, Virginia Jackson and Mary Deshields.
