David Clayton Henry, 83 departed this life on November 7 th , 2022 at Maryland Eastern ShoreRegional Health in Easton MD after an illness.\n\nHe was born on November 21 st , 1938 in Bozman, MD to the late Hayward Lankford andCatherine Elizabeth Henry. He was the second of eight children.\n\nDavid was a graduate of Robert Russa Moton High School and received his B.S. from MarylandState College, currently known as University of Maryland Eastern Shore. During his time at MarylandState, David was initiated in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He then moved to New York to obtain aMasters plus 30, from New York University.\n\nHe had a successful teaching career which began in Chestertown, MD before moving to NewYork where he taught math and keyboarding in the New York City Public School system. He then movedon to Kingsborough Community College where he was a Dean/ Director of Evening Studies for one yearand a Professor of Secretarial Science until his retirement in 1995.\n\nDavid enjoyed the outdoors. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, building and flying RC ModelAirplanes. He also loved gardening and spending time with family and friends. David leaves to mournthree children; Cinetta (Darryl) Brittingham, (NJ), David Henry Jr. (St. Michaels, MD), Darian (Shalee)Henry (DE); four grandchildren; Alena and Weymouth Brittingham Jr., (Cinetta & Darryl) and Abriannaand Emmanuel Henry (David Henry Jr. & Amanda Penuela) ; four brothers; William Henry (Hurlock, MD),\nDwight (Meredith) Henry, (Mc Daniel, MD), Rev. Eric (Rev. Nadine) Henry (Harrington, DE) and MonteHenry (Mc Daniel, MD); two sisters; Pamela (Jill Christianson) Henry (Colombia, MD) and Marla (Harold)Baines (St. Michaels, MD); a sister in-law, Janet Goldsborough (St. Michaels, MD); a devoted friendCharles Warner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.Preceding David in death were his parents Hayward and Catherine Henry, his wife, Evetta Henry,his daughter Thea Henry, his brother Hayward Henry. Two brothers -in-law, James Goldsborough andWallace Goldsborough and two sisters- in-law, Joan Henry and Gloria Henry.
