Cambridge, Maryland
Darryl Antoine Jones, affectionately known as “Moochie”, of Cambridge, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his home. He was 60 years old. Born on March 8, 1965, in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Joyce K. Jones and Eugene O. Stewart.
Darryl received his education in the Dorchester County Public Schools system.
Darryl was a unique and multi-talented individual whose gifts and personality touched many. A self-taught barber, he was well-known throughout the community for his skill and precision. His passion and love for music began at a young age and led him to become a sought-after DJ for parties, barbecues, and local events. His DJ name was Mook Dogg!
Darryl also had a fascination with cars, especially Mustangs. He was known for his mechanical skills, often found working under the hood or installing car radios and window tint. His creativity extended beyond music and mechanics—Darryl was left-handed and had remarkable artistic drawing abilities, which reflected his unique way of seeing the world.
He cherished spending time with his family and loved capturing moments through photography, a hobby that brought him great joy. His presence, laughter, and energy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Darryl leaves to cherish his memory: two brothers, Terrance (Valerie) and Timothy (Gezell) Jones, both of North Carolina; two sisters, Tina Cornish (Thomas) and Michelle Trego, both of Cambridge; one uncle, Paul Jones (Veronica); one aunt, Eve Jones, both of Cambridge; two devoted father figures, Nathaniel Trego and Richard Bowens; five nephews dear to his heart, Ted Williams (Dametra) of Texas, Tyrik Williams of Georgia, Andre (Amelia) of Delaware, Timothy Jr., and Jamar Jones, of North Carolina; and five beloved nieces, Tynesha Keene (Augie) of Virginia, Rhontrice Wilson of Cambridge, Tykera Williams (Nate) of Florida, Sierra Willix (Jason) of North Carolina, and Kayla Miller of Cambridge.
He is also survived by his special brother from another mother, Ronald Sampson (Saxon); his special great aunts, Rosemary Wongus and Bea Wongus; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Darryl “Moochie” Jones was deeply loved and will be forever remembered for his creativity, humor, and the love he shared with his family and community.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Joyce K. Jones; grandparents, James and Marzella Jones; great-grandmother, Fronnie Jones; uncle, Randall Anderson; aunts, Fredia Raisin and Christine Perry-Valentine; and his sister, Kim Y. Williams.
