Clifton Dallas Wright (Bud), son of the late Clifton Robert Wright and Mary Edith Wayman Washington, was born on February 13, 1936 in Caroline County, MD. He departed this life on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Caroline Nursing and Rehab, Denton, MD at the age of 88. Before residing there, he was a resident of Greensboro Heights, Greensboro, MD for many years.
Cliff attended the Public School System of Caroline County, MD. During his early years, he worked various jobs.
Cliff enjoyed listening to music and watching sports on tv. While at the nursing home, he loved socializing with the other residents and playing bingo. He also loved the outdoors. When asked, "Do you have a garden?”, he always replied “yes”, but never revealed whose garden he was claiming. Thanks to brother-in-law Norwood (Mutt), he would fill those garden baskets full, sell the vegetables and reap the reward!
And oh! we can’t forget those childhood games he played, especially on his sister Joyce Ann. Twas on a hot summer day that he doused her head with a bucket of white paint. He was in big trouble this time and with Aunt Janie. Needless to say what that consequence was! Through it all, we survived his playful tricks and loving him even more for there was never a dull day.
Cliff was well known around Caroline County. Whenever he stepped out, he was looking particularly smart, handsome and dapper, wearing that warm, friendly smile with his gold tooth shining. His shoes had to be shined without one speck of dirt. This started at an early age and continued through his entire life. Even his vehicle had to pass his inspection test. It had to be clean inside and out.
Cliff has three children, Larry Davis of Felton, DE, Marcia Loper (Anthony) of Dover, DE, and Ruth Ann Williams of Centreville, MD (who preceded him in death); four siblings Stanley Wyatt, Sr. (Pearl) of Yeadon, PA, Joyce A. Matthews of Denton, MD, William W. Wright of Dover, DE, and Richard R. Wright of Denton, MD (who preceded him in death). He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
