Brenda Lorraine Wooden

–

Trappe, Maryland

Brenda Lorraine Wooden of Easton, Maryland departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Brenda was 58 years of age.

Brenda was born March 1, 1965, to the late Mildred Anna Scott Jones. She attended Easton High School where she graduated with the class of 1983. She worked 40 plus years in the banking industry starting at St. Michaels Bank and dedicated the last 35 years to Talbot Bank of Easton which is currently known as Shore United Bank. During her long tenure she held many titles, roles and responsibilities that she was truly passionate about both professionally and personally. One thing's for sure, if you were a customer of Brenda's, you always walked away with a smile, a stitch in your side and a new friend. As her journey with the bank ended in September 2023, she retired as the Assistant Vice President and Floating Manager of Shore United Bank.

She was very active in her community. She was the President of the Frederick Douglass Honor Society, a life member of the NAACP where she received the Dorothy Webb Black Community Service Legacy Award, and past President and member of the Soroptimist International of Talbot County. You could also find Brenda participating in walks for the March of Dimes, Susan G. Komen Cure for Cancer, Relay for Life and her favorite the Bay Bridge Walks where her mother worked for 30 plus years. Brenda was a member at Bethel AME Church, where she served on the Stewardship and Finance Committee, the Missionary Society, the Trustee and Steward Board and sang with the Gospel Choir.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Mildred, stepfather Freeman Jones Jr., her favorite Uncle Willis B. Scott Jr., whom she affectionately called Uncle Bee Bee, grandparents Willis B. Scott Sr., Anna L. and Frederick N. Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughter Brianna N. Wooden, grandson Keegan B. Wooden, sister Frederica Perry (Craig), nephew Kevon I. Shaw, cousins Anna Howie (Kirk), Stephanie Scott, great cousins Jaylen, KJ and Teagan Howie, truly dear friends Robin O'Brien, Harriette Lowry, Julie Burgstahler, Donna Parks and several friends, co- workers and loved ones acquired during her career and lifetime.
