Ardena Tubman 1941 – 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ardena Tubman, who peacefully transitioned on June 7, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 24, 1941, Ardena was 83 years old. Ardena was born and raised in the close-knit community of Cordtown, a small town on the outskirts of Cambridge, Maryland. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eloise Tubman and William Farrare. A proud graduate of Mace’s Lane High School, Class of ‘59, Ardena and her twin sister Aseneth moved to New York after high school to follow their dreams. Ardena dedicated her life to service in the field of nursing before her well-deserved retirement. Known for her infectious laughter and joy, Ardena was the life of family gatherings. She cherished her time with friends and family and was always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Her unwavering support and care for her sister and family were a testament to her boundless love and dedication. Ardena’s legacy of kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her. Ardena was preceded in death by her parents, Eloise Tubman and William Farrare, her grandparents, her aunts and uncles, and many other cherished family members and friends. She leaves to cherish her memories; her son Steven Reingold of New York; her twin sister Aseneth Tubman of New York; her cousins Ernest Tubman of Cordtown, Betty Overton & family of Philadelphia, the Height family of Cordtown, the Molock/Boddy family of Cambridge, and a special friend who was more like a sister, Rev.
