April Nordine Thompson Brooks

–

Hurlock, Maryland

April Nordine Brooks of Cambridge, Maryland was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was surrounded by family.

April was born on August 6, 1966 to the loving late parents Shirley (Stanley) and Frederick Thompson Sr. in Cambridge, Maryland.

She knew the Lord's greatness and His importance in her life. She grew up in church, attending with her family in her early years. April held her membership at The Greater Mt Zion Pentecostal Church in Preston, Maryland.

April received her education in the Dorchester County Public School system graduating from Cambridge South Dorchester High School in 1984.

After graduation, she worked at Cold Water Seafood. She tried her hands in driving a forklift for B&G Foods. Her ultimate love fell way to driving on the open road. April drove tractor trailer, 6 wheeler, and semi-tractor for twenty-four years. Seventeen years of that was driving cross country. Other years were her driving long haul. I can hear April saying to me, "Melanie I don't see how you can stay in one spot. When you can enjoy seeing the country".

April was the nicest, generous, and friendly person anyone could know. Giving you her last was never an issue or a thought. All this was just part of her personality.

April was preceded in death by her parents Shirley (Stanley) and Frederick Thompson Sr. and two brothers Frederick Thompson Jr. and Orlando Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her one sister Melanie Thompson and two brothers Kevin (Wanda) and Kim (Romanda) Thompson and another sister-in-law Sonya Thompson; two bonus brothers: Tyrone (Gertie) Nichols and Fred (Ricky) Thompson; a special uncle Herb (Ruth) Elliott; a niece and two nephews she felt like they were her kids: Tiffany Brown, Derrick and LaRon Thompson; other nieces: Markya Lovett, Kendall Thompson, LaTia McGraw, LaTika Aldridge, Brianna Thompson; nephews: Marquis Lovett, Kameron Thompson, Bradley Thompson, LaRae Green; great nieces and nephews; goddaughter: Mi'Leisha Ross Pollard; a very close friend Evette Johns-Brown; a dearest friend Robert Camper; cousins, friends, and extended family.

We'll miss and continue to love you dear sister. Now rest, April until we all meet up again.
