In Loving Memory of Anthony Tyrone Brinkley, Sr.
Anthony Tyrone Brinkley, Sr., affectionately known as “Brink,” peacefully departed this life on July 29, 2026, at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.
Anthony was born on July 26, 1962, in Easton Maryland, to the late Mary Tilghman-Brinkley and Aaron Brinkley. He graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School.
Known and loved throughout the community as “Brink,” Anthony was a God-fearing man whose life reflected God’s love, faithfulness, and grace. He dedicated his life back to Christ 08/2023. His unwavering faith was evident in the way he lived and in his deep love for gospel music, which brought him peace and joy.
Family was the heart of Anthony’s life. He deeply loved his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He shared a special bond with his family and was affectionately known to all his nieces and nephews as the favorite uncle. His love, guidance, and caring spirit left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him.
Anthony lived at RAF Bentwaters in England from1986 to1988, where he played football for the Bentwaters Phantoms. During that time, he earned the opportunity to try out for a semi-professional football team in Ipswich, England. Sadly, a devastating accident ended what had been a very promising football career.
A talented and passionate chef, he worked as a Sous Chef at the Officers' Clubs at both RAF Bentwaters in England and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. His love of cooking continued throughout his life and became one of the ways he connected with family, friends, and his community.
He later became owner of Dreamcatcher Restaurant in Cambridge, Maryland, where he shared his culinary talents with countless customers. He also rented space at the Friendship Club in Centreville, Maryland, where he served as the cook and became well known for preparing delicious, home-style soul food that kept people coming back.
Anthony had a passion for cooking and found immense joy in bringing people together over a good meal. Anthony treasured time spent with his family and friends. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply being present for those he loved, he created memories that will be cherished forever. When you saw that towel across his shoulder, you know he was about to throw down. He always made sure there was more than enough food for everyone. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Kountry Wayne skits, dancing, and sharing laughter with those around him. His sense of humor, warm smile, and joyful personality could brighten any room.
Anthony was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Brinkley, and his cherished grandson, Jayden Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted father, Aaron Brinkley; his loving wife, Sarah Chilton-Brinkley; two sons, Karnell Johnson and Anthony Brinkley Jr.; three daughters, Ma-Shyrra Durden (Quintin), Toni Brinkley, and Antanyé Brinkley; two sisters, Bernadette Jackson (Terry) and Sarette Horton; two brothers, Aaron Blake and Alphonso Sorrell; five beloved grandchildren, Shaylin Johnson, Marleigh Downing, Trintin Durden, Margaret Durden, and Qarma Acree; his cherished god sister Johnetta Worthy; two godsons Isaiah Palmer, Zechariah Palmer; two goddaughters Kawana Gray, Taylor Brickhouse and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his love, wisdom, kindness, and unforgettable spirit.
Anthony will always be remembered for his warm heart, infectious laugh, generous spirit, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for his family. Though he is no longer with us in body, his legacy of love, compassion, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
