Alonzo Davis Obituary (1917

Alonzo Diamond Davis, 93 of Vienna, MD, departed this life on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Mallard Bay Care Center in Cambridge. He was born September 17, 1917 in Salem, Maryland, son of the late Thomas and Helen Davis. Mr. Davis entered into the Army on March 17, 1945 and was honorably discharged August 10, 1946. He was employed with the former Royal Packing Company in Vienna and was also a Wasa Independent Farmer. Mr. Davis was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Salem, MD. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Sampson Davis, a stepson, Robert Martin Sampson, a sister, Mary Hollis and a brother, Othello Warren Stanley. He is survived by eight stepchildren, Marion (Edwin) James, (Buffalo, NY), Gloria Day (Glen Burnie, MD), Algie (Rose) Sampson, Easton, MD, Nathaniel Sampson and Dianne (Dallas) Johns, (Trappe, MD), Betty Sampson, Mary Camper and Nancy (Wayne) Perry, all of Cambridge, MD; one brother, Phillip Thompson (Cambridge, MD); 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, march 12, 2011 1pm at Henry Funeral Home PA 510 Washington St Cambridge, MD with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment in Mt.
